So, this week, we’re changing it up a little bit and featuring a restaurant for Small Business Saturday! The hospitality industry has been hit incredibly hard by the covid-19 pandemic, so we want to shed some light on some of our favorite places – because what pairs better with some shopping than some great food and beverages!
The Wooden Nickel Pub is located in downtown Hillsborough, NC, which is the perfect backdrop for an afternoon meal and stroll. They serve high-quality pub fare with local ingredients and amazing daily/weekly specials. Their wings are always a go-to for us! Not to mention, they carry a perfect selection of craft beers that rotates frequently.
During a normal weekend (pre-covid), it can be difficult to get a seat, but the vibe is super fun and chill if you do manage a table! And, since quarantine started, they’ve been offering curbside take-out and weekly family meals. The family meals change weekly and have varied from fried chicken to tacos to spare ribs (and a ton more options)! Each family meal feeds four and includes a main, sides and a dessert – usually for about $40. It’s great value! And super yummy.

We have gotten a few family meals and general takeout a number of times while we’ve been staying at home and we can’t wait until we can go back for real. Give them a try if you’re local – you won’t be disappointed!
